We have an opening in our Monmouth Junction, NJ facility for an Assistant Controller.
The Assistant Controller - reporting directly to, and collaborating closely with, the Controller - is a key member of the Accounting/Finance team responsible for leading core accounting functions and driving accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the department. This role has direct ownership of technical accounting matters, revenue recognition, and financial reporting, and plays a central role in preparing for and managing financial audits.
The Assistant Controller ensures Accounting policies and procedures align with U.S. GAAP and internal control standards, while proactively identifying and resolving complex accounting issues.
In addition, she/he leads by example in mentoring and developing junior staff, fostering a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement. In the Controller’s absence, the Assistant Controller provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial information and support the company’s business objectives.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP across all revenue and transactional accounting. Leads the accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions while implementing rigorous controls to reduce errors and support audit readiness including, but not limited to: overseeing and supporting daily accounting related to general ledger, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, sales reserve analysis, cash management, fixed assets and financial reporting and filings, etc.
- Directs accounting activities to timely and accurately record transactions in the general ledger
- Leads monthly close and reconciliation processes, ensures integrity of intercompany and balance sheet transactions and promptly resolves discrepancies
- Owns technical accounting research and documentation;
Drafts white papers and accounting memos to support audit and regulatory compliance - Provides guidance on new accounting pronouncements, as needed;
Assists in generation and advancement of assigned process improvements, internal controls and optimization of business processes impacting company and support future growth - Drives successful and timely audit completion by anticipating auditor needs, resolving open items quickly and implementing post-audit corrective actions, ensures adequate and timely communication with Controller and Senior Leadership to identify and properly record and address issues affecting accounting reporting, timelines, deliverables, etc.
- Collaborates closely with cross functional teams to ensure financial policies/processes and process improvements/optimization are understood and supported across company to ensure scalability of our operations to support future growth
- Manages, coaches and mentors direct reports
