Position: Manager, Accounting – Monmouth Junction, NJ

This role works closely with Accounting Senior Management to ensure company financial records remain accurate while meeting reporting deadlines. The incumbent establishes and approves internal controls and guidelines for preparing transactions in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and oversees the monthly financial reporting process.

• Prepares and/or reviews appropriate general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
• Manages the company’s financial accounts, internal controls, payrolls, cash receipts, and financial assets for timeliness, compliance, and accuracy.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements; assists with regulatory reporting, as applicable.
• Researches and corrects accounting issues for compliance with GAAP and other regulations; proactively reports issues to upper management for resolution.
• Coordinates and participates in internal and external audits, as needed.
• Participates in interviewing, training new employees, and mentors accounting team members, as needed.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in process of obtaining CPA with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of six years experience in public industry or corporate accounting.
• Hands‑on knowledge of GAAP rules and regulations.
• Current, hands‑on experience performing general accounting functions (e.g., general ledger, reconciliations, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, payroll).
• Experience working with external auditors.
• Strong record‑keeping ability.
• Accounting experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry (preferred).

Work Arrangements: Hybrid work environment requiring local candidates to be able to work the majority of the week in our NJ office.

Anticipated salary range: $120,000 to $145,000 per year, based on education and experience.
