Sr. Bridge Engineer

DuBois & King, Inc. is seeking a senior bridge engineer with 8+ years of experience in municipal and state highway bridge projects. The role includes technical task management, leading bridge design tasks, staff development, and business development support. This position plays a key role in the growth of our employee‑owned firm, known throughout New England and beyond.
Responsibilities- Apply structural design codes including AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO LRFR.
- Use structural design software such as MIDAS.
- Provide services to NHDOT and/or VTrans.
- Mentor and develop staff.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Work within a fast‑paced, team‑oriented workplace.
- Complete and check complex engineering calculations, plans, specifications, and estimates for concrete and precast decks, steel and concrete superstructures, abutments, wingwalls, culverts, and retaining walls.
- Manage technical tasks and relevant staff.
- Provide operational and project management support to the bridge lead.
- Develop a variety of bridge projects of various sizes and designs.
- Prepare conceptual, preliminary, and final design documents.
- Oversee work quality control, client coordination, and all daily technical aspects of assigned projects.
- 8+ years of experience in bridge engineering.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE license preferred.
- Demonstrated technical experience.
- Micro Station and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience.
- Working knowledge of AASHTO design guidelines.
The salary range is $125,000 – $175,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus. Compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
