Overview
The EMS Programs Instructor provides educational and technical expertise in the development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of educational programming, including simulation-based components to various EMS provider audiences. The EMS Programs Instructor is responsible for coordination and delivery of the course material they are assigned including, as necessary, any advance preparation as well as ensuring that all equipment is available and ready for instructional use.
Other duties may include assisting in curriculum development and refinement, providing clinical oversight and evaluating student progress towards proficiency/competency goals in conjunction with providing performance feedback.

- National Registry AEMT or Paramedic Certification or NY State equivalent certification required.
- A state-issued credential/license at any level of EMS Instructor/Coordinator (VT) or Certified Instructor Coordinator (NY) is strongly preferred.
- For NY-based Paramedic Education Program sites, a NY State Certified Instructor Coordinator (CIC) or Certified Lab Instructor (CLI) credential may be required.
- Associates, Bachelors, or Masters Degree(s) strongly preferred.
- Additional EMS instructor certifications desired/preferred (e.g. Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), Emergency Pediatric Care (EPC), Geriatric Emergencies for EMS (GEMS), EMS Safety, etc.).
- Minimum 2 years field experience as an AEMT or Paramedic, preferably with supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in a training or educational setting serving as an instructor.
- Previous experience with curriculum design and class management.
- Previous experience with various educational technologies, including learning management systems (LMS) and high-fidelity simulation methods and equipment.
