Position: Accountant I
Location: Columbia

DPP is seeking an Accountant for an opportunity with our client in the banking industry in Columbia, SC.

Work arrangement:

• Hybrid:
  Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; remote Monday and Friday
• W2 position; 6 months

Position description:

• The Accountant I will process Accounts Payable invoices using People Soft Financial System, including printing and mailing checks; ensuring invoices are properly routed for approval; and invoices have a purchase order where required.
• The Accountant I will also perform routine tasks related to account reconciliations and process routine journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Processing
  • Process invoices per guidelines with 99% accuracy
  • Review, monitor, and resolve outstanding invoices in AP Workflow before 30 days aging
  • Research and resolve AP issues for Associations and Bank within 2 days
  • Print and mail Bank and Association checks as required
• Account Reconciliations and Journals
  • Prepare routine monthly reconciliations and communicate recon items as they arise
  • Complete assigned journal entries daily, weekly, monthly assigned with 99% accuracy

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to analyze routine problems
• Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail
