Executive Assistant & Operations Support
Job Summary: The Executive Assistant and Operations Support will provide high-level administrative support to the Associate Vice President for Student Success while assisting the Admin & Operations Coordinator in supporting various units within the Student Success Department. The role requires regular interaction with university stakeholders, staff, and students. Key responsibilities include managing and prioritizing the Associate Vice President’s calendar, meetings, and events;
overseeing administrative operations for the AVP’s office; and providing support to departments within the Student Success Unit, including the Carolina Experience, the Student Success Center, the Career Center, and Academic Assessment & Quality Improvement.
- Manage and prioritize the Associate Vice President’s calendar, meetings, and events.
- Oversee administrative operations for the Associate VP’s office and departments within the Student Success Unit.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and data analysis for student success initiatives.
- Coordinate projects, track key issues, and ensure follow‑up for effective office operations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the Associate VP’s office and university stakeholders.
- Support event planning, logistics, and execution.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration within the Student Success Unit.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3 or more years of job‑related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience in business, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalent. Experience operating within a large university. Knowledge of or ability to learn the University of South Carolina policies, procedures, and administrative systems.
Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective interpersonal and customer relations skills. Ability to manage sensitive situations with confidentiality and discretion. Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
