Director of Music Ministries

Beulah United Methodist Church is seeking a Director of Music Ministries to provide dynamic leadership and oversight to the music ministries, equipping the choir and the congregation to grow in their faith and discipleship.

Beulah is a vibrant congregation in the Sandy Run community, located 20 minutes south of Columbia. Our mission is to give honor and glory to God, love one another as Jesus commanded, and reach out with love and compassion to the lost and those in need. • Provides musical leadership during worship services, including playing the piano and directing the choir, to help guide the congregation in their faith journey.
• Plans and leads weekly choir rehearsals to prepare for worship and grow as a group.
• Selects music in consultation with the pastor to help ensure cohesive worship.
• Coordinates musical leadership for special services, e.g., weddings and funerals, to support the congregation and community during significant life events.

  Designs and facilitates relevant and inspiring worship.
• Musical Knowledge:
  Demonstrates a broad knowledge of music, including a variety of genres and styles.
• Team Building:
  Creates a feeling of belonging, pride, and joy.
• Organization:
  Understands the necessity of short and long range planning and clear communication.
• Interpersonal Skills:
  Establishes good working relationships with all who are relevant to the completion of work.
• Self-Development:
  Sets appropriate personal work objectives, measures own progress, and identifies gaps.
• The part-time position, 10-15 hours per week, begins on January 1, 2023.
• The position will remain open until filled.
• The salary range is $12,000-$15,000 with opportunity for negotiation.
