TDY conducts extensive background, reference checks, and pre-hire/random drug screening as a condition of employment. Our client seeks a Critical Care / Pulmonology Physician for a 2-3 week placement to cover a provider on vacation. The schedule is approximately:
Mon-Thu 1p-11p, Fri-Sun 5p-7a, with about 66 hours per week, alternating with a week off.
Qualifications include being BE or BC, holding an active state license (any state), current DEA, and updated BLS/ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities include serving as the attending for inpatient and outpatient services, performing evaluations, and supervising house staff and midlevel providers. Procedures performed may include blood sampling, thoracentesis, catheter placements, intubation, bronchoscopy, lumbar puncture, joint aspiration, feeding tube placement, ultrasound, and more. Services will be provided in ICUs and other inpatient/outpatient areas, including the ED, surgical units, and clinics.
Contract physicians must be Board Certified or Board Eligible (less than 4 years out of residency), with current BLS/ACLS. They may operate with a license from any U.S. state or territory and must hold a MD degree from an accredited institution.
The physician will conduct comprehensive assessments, manage patient care, and communicate with other physicians regarding referrals. Documentation must be entered into the CPRS system on the day of service, meeting all standards. Strong computer skills and CPRS training are necessary.
