Job SummaryThe Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for a full-time, professional‑track faculty position at the rank of Instructor to begin August 16 2025. The position is a 9‑month appointment that may be renewed contingent upon the Dean’s approval, satisfactory performance, departmental needs, and the availability of funding. The instructor will teach eight courses per appointment (four courses per semester) in General Chemistry I & II, Introduction to Forensic Science, and/or chemistry for non‑science majors, and may also provide support to lecture or lab programs as necessary.
For lab courses the instructor will ensure that essential chemicals and appropriate instrumentation are available.
Education and Experience
A master’s degree in chemistry or forensic science and at least six semesters of experience teaching undergraduate courses (as a graduate teaching assistant or as an instructor of record) in general chemistry, forensic science, organic chemistry, or chemistry for non‑science majors by the appointment start date.
Preferred QualificationsA Ph.D. in chemistry, forensic science, or a closely related discipline by the appointment start date with evidence of potential for excellence in teaching.
