The psychology department at the University of South Carolina, Columbia campus, invites applications for a 9‑month, full‑time, tenure‑track assistant professor position beginning August 16, 2026. The successful candidate will conduct research related to children and prevention, vigorously pursue external research grants, and contribute to the department’s academic mission through undergraduate and graduate teaching commensurate with their background and areas of expertise.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Doctoral degree in psychology or a related field by the start date of employment.
- Demonstrated record of research productivity and potential for excellence in teaching.
- Interest in prevention science focusing on early or middle childhood.
- Research on prevention strategies that benefit young children in family, school, or community settings, potentially addressing dual outcomes of health and psychological well‑being.
