Training Coordinator I - Instructor / Motor Carrier Services Trainer - 183801

Responsibilities- Training Program Development:
Collaborate with subject matter experts, stakeholders, and management to identify training needs and develop training programs that align with Motor Carrier Services (MCS) or the agency’s goals, policies, and regulations. Develop training materials using instructional design principles, including lesson plans, training manuals, presentation slides, multimedia content (simulations, videos, etc.), quizzes, and assignments to support effective training delivery. Topics may include but are not limited to MCS processing standards, IRP, IFTA, UCR, and Audit. - Compliance and Documentation Updates:
Regularly update training materials, procedures, and processes to reflect latest industry trends, DMV policies, best practices, state and federal regulations, and legislative changes to ensure accuracy and compliance. - Learning Management System (LMS) Management:
Maintain and utilize the agency's LMS to organize training materials, maintain accurate training records, attendance, monitor learner progress, and generate reports. Provide guidance to other agency users of the LMS as needed. - Training Delivery:
Deliver training sessions, refreshers, and workshops for internal and external participants, either virtually or in person, and travel as required. Travel may include in-state and occasional out-of-state trips, typically ranging from monthly to quarterly depending on program needs. - Professional Development:
Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in training and development to enhance instructional methods and content. Maintain proficiency in all materials created and presented. - All other duties as assigned by management.
- State
Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree and relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted with prior approval.
- Must complete a nationwide criminal background check to include fingerprint.
- Knowledge of instructional design, curriculum development, and lesson planning, with experience delivering in-person and virtual training using multimedia tools.
- Knowledgeable of Agency policies and procedures, with proficiency in MS Office, learning management systems, and e-learning software.
- Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills; highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple priorities.
- Collaborative team player and committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
- Reports directly to the Motor Carrier Services (MCS) Training Manager for leadership and guidance. Must work independently and deliver content to remote stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Position may require work outside of regular work schedule. Travel will be required to fulfil job duties.
- Will require certification to drive a state provided vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to troubleshoot media presentation issues while working independently.
- This is a 24-month grant-funded position with the possibility of renewal.
- A Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of related experience in content development and delivery in a classroom/workshop environment.
