The Marketing Department of the Darla Moore School of Business seeks applications for a professional faculty position to begin August 16, 2026. The position is at the rank of Lecturer (open rank). Appointment at the rank of Lecturer requires a Master’s degree in Marketing or an MBA or its equivalent from an AACSB accredited graduate program and significant industry experience in Marketing or Sales.
The position is subject to the availability of funding.
- Teach courses focusing on applying marketing principles, product management and/or marketing strategy at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Design and deliver coursework that may include experiential learning projects with student teams.
- Maintain a standard teaching load of seven courses during the academic year.
- Engage in the Center for Sales and Marketing Leadership and activities required to maintain AACSB faculty qualifications status.
- Participate in business outreach to support development of center partner relationships, internships and student placement efforts.
Education and Experience
- A Master’s degree in Marketing, an MBA or its equivalent from an AACSB‑accredited institution.
- Significant experience in related Marketing and Sales roles (e.g., proven track record as practitioner with expertise in marketing strategy, product/brand management, brand development, new product development, strategic planning, new business development).
- Understanding of current marketing trends and tools within a changing technological environment.
- Ability to translate insights and analytics into actionable strategy (e.g., leveraging research findings to develop product plans, strategic/creative insights, agency briefs, and lead cross‑functional teams).
- Experience teaching at the university level and/or training early‑career industry professionals.
- Teach applications of the 4
Ps and help students create marketing plans based on a project with a “client company.” - Teach basics of product/brand management and serve as teacher and advisor to students in the creation of a marketing plan/strategic brief or business development plan based on insights.
- Help students create meaningful and impactful presentations.
- Serve as liaison between industry partners and the university.
