A 2:2 teaching load; scholars who can teach courses required by the State’s REACH Act are particularly desired.
Position DescriptionThe Center for American Civic Leadership and Public Discourse is building a cohort of permanent and visiting faculty to assist in its research and teaching needs in fields centered on themes such as ordered liberty, rule of law, democratic self‑governance, justice, and unalienable rights. These scholars will promote the dialogic, cultural, and civic literacies that are essential to a well‑ordered and flourishing polity.
Visiting Assistant Professors appointed in the Center are expected to devote significant time to their proposed research and are encouraged to attend or participate in various activities of the Center, including faculty‑student seminars, colloquia, and public lectures.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field awarded within the last three years (no earlier than September 1, 2022).
- Applicants will be considered from a wide range of fields including, but not limited to, philosophy, history, political science, religious studies, and English literature.
A complete application must include the following:
- Curriculum vitae
- A scholarly paper written in the past three years
- A statement (no more than 1,500 words) describing the proposed research
- Contact information for two references
For priority consideration, application materials must be received by January 15, 2026; applications will continue to be reviewed until positions are filled. Awards will be announced March 2025 or earlier.
