Infant Room Teacher - Bright Oak Preschool Academy (6 weeks - 12 months)
We are seeking a nurturing, attentive, and developmentally‑focused Infant Room Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position is responsible for the care, supervision, and development of infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months. The ideal candidate will provide a safe, stimulating environment that supports each infant’s individual growth, while building strong relationships with families and coworkers.
Duties- Caregiving & Daily Routines
- Provide responsive, warm, and loving care to each infant.
- Follow and document individualized feeding and sleeping schedules.
- Maintain cleanliness, diapering routines, and sanitation procedures according to state licensing and center policies.
- Ensure the safety and well‑being of all children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
- Maintain accurate daily records for each child, including meals, sleep, diaper changes, and developmental observations.
- Developmental Support
- Create and implement age‑appropriate lesson plans that support infant development in areas such as gross and fine motor skills, sensory exploration, language and early communication, social and emotional development.
- Track and document developmental milestones using center‑approved tools and share progress with parents during conferences and daily communication.
- Communication & Teamwork
- Develop positive relationships with infants and families, fostering trust and open communication.
- Collaborate with co‑teachers and support staff to create a cohesive classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents daily through written logs, apps, or in person, providing updates and addressing questions or concerns.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as required.

- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and move swiftly between the floor and standing positions.
- Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, active environment.
- Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Knowledge of infant developmental milestones and early childhood best practices.
- Strong communication, observation, and organizational skills.
Bright Oak Preschool Academy is an upcoming preschool being built off of Maybank Highway on John’s Island, SC. We are a privately held, locally owned school that will serve students from infants (6 weeks) to Pre‑K (5 yrs). Our school will embrace a child‑centered, project‑based curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and a work environment that fosters collaboration, inclusivity, creativity, and safety.
In an effort to support local working parents, we will provide care from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm year‑round with the exception of most federal holidays, including the week between December 25th and January 1st.
