- Develop, promote, implement, deliver, and monitor occupational advanced training opportunities throughout the service area.
- Conduct training needs analyses, develop and present proposals, secure resources to address identified needs, and lead the department with the responsibility for securing training contracts through direct interface with companies.
- Coordinate training delivery with area organizations to assist in making those organizations more effective and efficient through ensuring the development and delivery of instructional classroom and/or hands‑on training with qualified instructors to meet the market needs through consultative transactions with companies to achieve personnel and organizational growth.
- Aid in writing contracts, grants, and reports deemed necessary to meet the programmatic strategic plan.
- Assess programs and design and implement policy or content change to improve student learning and program relevancy, work towards departmental student success goals, and maintain compliance with accrediting bodies.
- Identify and promote immediate and long‑range training requirements in the service area by: a) Having frequent contact with representatives from business, industry, and the community. b) Regularly meeting with or serving on committees with representatives from business, industry, and the community to keep courses consistent with current technology, laws, regulations, and policies, including creating advisory committees as necessary. c) Marketing the College’s Corporate and Community Education (CCE) programs and services.
- Recruit and manage the retrainSC and Apprenticeship Carolina opportunities with area companies.
- Recruit and provide supervisory leadership for the staff and faculty involved in the coordination and delivery of training in the service area, cultivating a learning environment that promotes continuous improvement and professional development.
- Develop and manage the annual revenue and expense budgets for the department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
May include occasional overnight travel; may include occasional night or weekend hours corresponding to student needs, instruction, and/or events; must be able to stand for long periods of time; must be able to lift and/or move 40 pounds short distances; and must be able to bend and/or kneel to check on equipment.
A bachelor's degree, experience in the manufacturing industry, and related experience in the development of training programs.
Knowledge of how to develop and manage educational programs; effective managerial and leadership skills; effective communication skills; ability to be innovative and strategic in planning and thought; ability to work with diverse populations and ensure inclusive environments; ability to create and maintain relationships with internal and external constituents; ability to be fiscally responsible.
