Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to support the design and development of customized AC/DC Power Modules, IT Modules, and modular Data Center solutions. This role involves working across IT, Telecom, and Industrial markets, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, manufacturing facilities, customers, and external agencies to deliver high‑quality structural designs compliant with applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate will be hands‑on with both conceptual and detailed structural design, support pre‑sales and post‑sales activities, and ensure design integrity from concept through fabrication and site execution.
Key Responsibilities- Act as Lead Structural Engineer for conceptual and detailed structural design during pre‑sales and execution phases
- Develop structural designs for modular data centers, telecom facilities, IT modules, and industrial enclosures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local building codes, including seismic, thermal, and structural requirements
- Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, thermal, and controls engineering teams
- Design structural elements such as foundations, anchoring systems, lifting points, gutters, flashings, and supports
- Prepare and review structural calculations, including static and dynamic load analysis
- Produce and review schematic design (SD), detailed design (DD), and construction drawing (CD) documentation
- Review and approve structural submittals and fabrication drawings
- Define material specifications, welding procedures, surface preparation, coating/painting, and inspection requirements
- Support quality control activities during fabrication and construction
- Collaborate with vendors, fabricators, and engineering partners to ensure design feasibility and constructability
- Provide technical support during construction, site activities, and acceptance testing
- Travel to fabrication facilities as required to validate designs, review workmanship, and support audits
- Participate in customer interactions to develop optimized and cost‑effective solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical and/or structural engineering
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles and building codes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit
- Experience interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to understand and translate customer requirements into engineering solutions
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred but not required)
- Experience with data centers, modular buildings, or industrial equipment design
- Familiarity with fabrication processes, welding standards, and inspection methods
- Project management or technical leadership experience
