Civil​/Transportation Engineering Intern - Infrastructure; Summer

Stantec's multi-disciplinary office in Charleston and Columbia, SC has an opportunity for a highly motivated Civil/Transportation Engineering Intern.

This position offers work as a member of our Transportation Group in a team environment with exposure to roadway and traffic engineering projects. Roadway projects may include assisting with roadway design, construction observation, grading design, stormwater modeling and analysis, traffic control design, and the use of CAD software including Micro Station and Open Roads in support of active South Carolina DOT, County, and City transportation projects.

Traffic engineering tasks may include traffic analysis using Synchro and SIDRA modeling software.

This is a paid summer internship position with opportunity for a part-time schedule during the semester.

• Gather project data - Prepare and assemble reports and drawings

• Perform routine calculations

• Assist with Micro Station drafting and design, and preparation of construction documents

• Observe and attend meetings with design team, and other project stakeholders

• Other related tasks as assigned

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Literacy in Micro Station is an asset

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction

• Ability to work independently

• Must have a good driving record, and valid driver’s license

• In progress towards earning a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

Summary:
