About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and self-driven Management Accountant to be a key member of our close-knit and collaborative finance team.

As the Management Accountant, you will support in the overall functioning of the department specially within overheads variance analysis, general ledger review and spending control under efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and report variances to expected people and overhead costs, prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and provide feedback to management
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure proper cost monitoring against budget and to reduce costs
  • Participate in the completion of month-end, half-year and year-end closure and reporting tasks within the Devro Group timetable as directed
  • Monitor and review key balance sheet reconciliations and problem solving of any issues
  • Participate in the completion of integrated business planning activity and forecasts
  • Help provide financial review on all cost savings
  • Participate in completing annual budgets
  • Support with capital investment budgeting activity and development of proposals
  • Help monitor and track CAPEX spending and the analysis of site spending to optimize cash flow
  • Support in asset management activity including verification of assets
  • Help coordinate and prepare local insurance renewal information and assist with insurance audits, and other external audits as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external financial controls
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement in the Finance processes
  • Supporting with other finance tasks e.g. payroll during holiday periods and other ad-hoc tasks as required

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting/finance or related field is essential
  • Previous experience in an accounting role is essential, and within the manufacturing industry is desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills and finance system experience essential, preferably JD Edwards but not essential
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must have a proactive approach and be self-driven to achieve tasks
  • Ability to be supportive and collaborate with stakeholders
