American Armor Gloves makes high-quality nitrile gloves here at home in South Carolina. Healthcare workers, first responders, and essential workers across the country rely on what we build. Our purpose is simple:
We strengthen America by building quality protection at home.
We're at a pivotal point. We're a lean team of about 200 people, scaling toward 320–350, and we've spent the past year building the systems that will carry us there: a redesigned organization, a clear vision with quarterly milestones, defined executive roles, and a new leadership and compensation architecture. Now we need a finance leader to help make that growth sustainable and profitable.
THEOPPORTUNITY
This is not a seat for maintaining the status quo. As our VP of Finance, you'll own one essential question for the whole company: “Can we afford it, and does it create value?”
You'll join the executive team at a time when your decisions shape what the company becomes. You'll help decide where capital goes, how we price and protect margin, and how we invest in people, equipment, and capacity. You'll also have the rare chance to build finance and procurement functions that scale, instead of inheriting systems someone else designed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Own financial strategy and stewardship that fuels growth, supports operations, and keeps risk‑taking responsible
- Lead enterprise budgeting, cash management, capital planning, and financial controls
- Partner cross-functionally to set KPI targets and financial scorecard logic within our quarterly planning and review rhythm
- Give the executive team clear financial insight on trade‑offs, capital allocation, cost per unit, gross margin, and cash conversion
- Mature our procurement practices and supplier‑spend stewardship
- Advise leadership on which initiatives we can afford and which ones truly create value
- Grow the next generation of finance and procurement leaders
You’ll set our financial reporting standards, budget process, cash discipline, and controls. You’ll lead the recommendations on capital allocation, funding, pricing and margin, cost‑reduction priorities, and financial risk. You’ll work closely with HR on compensation architecture, with Operations on cost and capital, and with Sales & Marketing on profitable growth as that function expands.
WHY THIS ROLE, WHY NOW- Real influence. You’ll sit at the executive table during a growth phase, not after the important decisions have been made.
- Build, not just run. Our structure is lean and still forming, so you’ll design systems that scale with the business.
- A clear operating rhythm. A shared vision, quarterly milestones, and a common scorecard keep the leadership team aligned, so your work connects directly to company priorities.
- Mission that matters. You’ll help strengthen domestic manufacturing of products that protect people every day.
- Leadership growth. We develop leaders deliberately. You’ll build your team’s bench and help shape succession and leadership development across the company.
- Executive‑level experience leading finance at a function, business unit, or enterprise level
- A track record of leading through other leaders, not through doing the work yourself
- Experience making strategic, cross‑functional trade‑offs in manufacturing, regulated, quality‑driven, or scaling businesses (strongly preferred)
- Deep financial expertise paired with strong business judgment and people leadership
- Comfort with ERP and financial systems, Microsoft Office, and collaborative tools. Net Suite experience preferred.
You set clear goals and hold people accountable for outcomes, not effort. You fix systems, not just problems. You break down silos and think…
