Responsible for conducting inspections/surveys/investigations and ensuring that the activities and services are in compliance with standards. Performs fundamental supervisory and leadership functions in accordance with agency policies and procedures, best practices and Federal and State rules and regulations, especially with regard to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) standards. Maintains an effective organizational team and motivates diverse staff to accomplish mission critical operations and objectives.
Promotes workforce engagement and a safe, professional, and productive work environment for all employees. Evaluates State and Federal licensed activities and services as well as applicants for licensure to determine the degree to which standards are carried out effectively. Primary link between field staff and Division Director. Provides summary reports to Division Director as needed, consults with support managers to obtain facility information, and represents the Division in the absence of the Division Director.
Promotes implementation of DPH's strategic plan. Performs other duties as necessary, consults with resource professionals/administrators; prepares for and presents evidence in hearings/trials; participates in disaster preparedness response, and is designated an essential employee, subject to duty and/or call on a 24-hour basis during emergency.
Minimum Requirements
A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must have or be able to attain Surveyor Minimum Qualification Test (SMQT)/Quality Indicators Survey (QIS)/Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Basic qualifications. Obtaining the SMQT certification will provide a 5% salary increase. Able to exceed eight (8) hours of work per day when needed. Willing to drive round trip up to four (4) hours and distances of up to 400 miles and accommodate overnight travel 3-4 nights per week.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 20lbs to a distance and height of 20 feet. Must have supervisory/management experience.

A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health Administration, Physical Science, and Natural Science, or related field and four (4) years of relevant experience and two (2) years of supervisory/management experience.

Driving RecordIf this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.
