American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist for an acute care hospital setting, requiring 2+ years of Cath Lab experience and BLS/ACLS/RCIS certifications.
Details- Acute care hospital with 304 staffed beds
- Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Runs 4-5 labs per day with 2-3 CVT staff per lab, averaging 20-25 cases daily
- Rotating 4x10 hour day shifts (7:00 AM-5:30 PM and 9:30 AM-8:00 PM), varying by week
- On-call required: one weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per 7 weeks plus a weekly call shift and evening shift
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No floating to other service lines or sister facilities
- Uses Epic EMR (preferred experience)
- Additional equipment includes PACS, Fuji Vidistar, and MAC Lab
- 2+ years of Cath Lab experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
- RCIS (CCI) or ARRT certification required (registered or in process)
- South Carolina RN license required if applicable
- Community hospital experience required
- Proficient in coronary diagnostic and intervention scrub and monitor techniques
- Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
- Experience with vascular studies/procedures and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
- Radiation badge required (must be provided by agency)
- SSN and driver's license required for consideration
- Responsibilities include diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures, IVC filter placement, and embolization
- Impella insertion and MAC Lab experience preferred
- Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
- Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, though not guaranteed
- First-time travelers may be accepted depending on position needs
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis; 60-mile radius rule applies for travel rate eligibility
- During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
