Essential Functions
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Patient Services Representative serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts.
- Demonstrates,through behavior,Centerfor Primary Care ’sMission Statement.
- Promotespositivepublicrelationstowardspatients,visitors,families,physicians,andothers.
- Exhibits characteristicsconsistentwithCPCvaluesforquality,teamwork,andpride.
- S creening, prioritizing, and returning patient calls according to office procedure.
- S chedules appointments according to office procedure and to patient’s need.
- U pon checking in a patient, acquires all necessary information (registration forms, insurance card copies, responsible party’s information, etc.) prior to physician seeing patient.
- Verifying Insurance Eligibility.
- Obtain and post payments, as well as reconciling at end of day.
- Checking out patients.
- Assist with new patient paperwork and patient updates.
- Schedule follow-up visits for patients.
- Accurately performs data entry on computer system for Billing and posting payment and gathering other necessary information.
- Processes incoming and outgoing mail, records requests, patient documentation, etc. based on office procedure
- Always maintains patient confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Communicates effectively by telephone and to the patient at his/her level of understanding.
- P romotes positive public relations to patients, visitors, families, physicians, and others.
- Physical appearance and conduct are consistent with acceptable professional ethics and CPC standards.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Knowledgeable of electronic medical record system.
- Ability to identify emergent medical situations.
- Ability to effectively function in a fast-paced, time-sensitive work environment.
- Capable of managing several tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
