Job Description

To maximize customer satisfaction and the overall profitability of the hotel by directing revenue-generating activities in accordance with the Business Plan and Monthly Action Plan Calendar. Coordinates service activities related to sales in line with hotel and brand standards. Responsible for revenue production, meeting or exceeding revenue objectives for occupancy and ADR. Manages all sales areas to achieve professional rapport within the local business community and clients.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of sales experience at a branded hotel preferred
  • Associate degree required; four-year college or hospitality degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
  • Brand certification programs are a plus
  • Professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness essential
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to perform major activities: standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, communicating
  • Able to sit or stand for eight hours, bend, reach
  • Work schedule may include holidays, weekends, evenings; long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to push/pull 60 pounds and lift/carry 30 pounds
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledgeable in:
  • Hotel operations, staff services, room types, rates, discounts
  • Phone etiquette and inquiry handling
  • Local shopping, dining, entertainment, travel directions
  • Daily hotel operations, event updates, and procedures
  • Manager on Duty functions as scheduled
Skills:
  • Proficient with property management systems, Sales Pro, Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of financial data and basic arithmetic
  • Handle guest complaints and disputes professionally under stress
Abilities:
  • Generate new business through cold calls, site visits, marketing, internet, and other channels
  • Interpret complex data and information
  • Communicate effectively with guests and staff
  • Assist guests professionally and maintain a hospitable attitude
