Location:
Columbia, SC. Salary: US $120,000 – $140,000 per year.
The Facility Maintenance Supervisor oversees maintenance operations of the facility, ensuring equipment, machinery, and infrastructure are properly maintained to support efficient business operations. The role includes managing a team, scheduling activities, budgeting, and ensuring safety and compliance.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of maintenance staff and train junior staff as needed.
- Schedule maintenance activities, conduct equipment repairs (heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical), and maintain a calendar of monthly and annual checkups.
- Perform general aesthetic upkeep including painting, basic carpentry, landscaping, and other construction duties such as carpentry, masonry, roofing, and welding.
- Conduct building and equipment surveying to ensure health and safety standards.
- Handle pest control issues by spraying insecticide or coordinating with professionals.
- Respond to emergencies, prioritize tasks, and communicate issues to upper management timely.
- Maintain and manage the maintenance budget and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
- Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform routine physical tasks.
- Effective communication and people‑management abilities; ability to interact professionally at all levels.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Preferred experience in a manufacturing setting.
- High‑level interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Professional demeanor and customer‑service orientation toward internal and external customers.
- Team‑oriented experience and approach.
- Ability to think outside the box with a sense of urgency.
- Confidence in interacting with people at all levels.
