Title: CNC Machine Operator III - Drill Cell/Grinding - Weekend Shift

Arthrex Manufacturing is actively searching for a CNC Machine Operator III to produce quality medical instruments in accordance with Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. procedures in a safe and effective manner to exceed customers needs. This position will be for Weekend Shift (Friday through Sunday, 6 am to 6 pm).
Successful candidates must possess a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and at least 4 years of relevant CNC experience. Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better.
Main Objective: To produce superior products, troubleshoot and repair equipment when the machine is not working properly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow written process and operate a variety of CNC machines and special processes with little to no supervision
- Receive work orders and verify components are correct
- Receive material and load on bar feeder
- Perform and record line clearance
- Verify the machine is running the correct program
- Deburr parts as required
- Measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications using precision measuring instruments
- Interact in a Manufacturing environment with a variety of personnel and shift changeover on a daily basis
- Ensure inspection processes are kept at required levels (AQL S C=0) and perform checks (example: every 30 minutes)
- Maintain quality and production output; sort/rework parts as required
- Assist other operations as required
- Data entry in SAP system
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow safety procedures
- Report safety or maintenance concerns to management immediately
- Perform first cut-off, return axes to home position, and stop machine to change settings, replace tools and perform tool offsets
- Recommend process improvements with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems
- Adjust bar feeder for proper material size and perform dry runs; verify material against work order
- Perform first PC inspection after setup and adjust tools to meet blueprint specifications
- Download programs to the machine; perform dry run with no material and verify all tools are in place
- Monitor machine operation and malfunctions; verify the correct program is running
- Set up multi-axis lathes and milling centers; run trials to verify accuracy
- Demonstrate ability to streamline processes to increase productivity and quality
- Install and adjust collects with appropriate pressure; clean and assemble collect assemblies, replace fixtures and tools; inspect old collects and guide brushes
- Verify correct tools against tool sheets and program; set up tools in pre-setter and/or machine
- Notify programmers of issues and updates needed for improvements
- Support other machine operators as assigned by Crew Coordinators or Supervisor
- Ensure production and pilot production jobs are set up consistently, timely and accurately
- Identify root causes related to machine settings, tooling, fixturing and collets; notify leadership and correct when authorized
- Drive others to exceed goals; identify programming, tool data sheets (TDS) and/or process data sheets (PDS) issues and notify Engineering
- Mentor lower level operators using effective training and troubleshooting methods
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 4 years of direct CNC machine experience or equivalent vocational education required
CNC machine setup experience is required; ability to use different measuring tools and perform all aspects of line clearance. Advanced computer literacy. A desire to improve in all areas and work as part of a safety-, quality-, and efficiency-focused team. Attention to detail. Completion of required curriculum within 180 days of hire/transfer, including Fundamentals of Manufacturing. Complete and pass Metrology Course CTC-137 and CTA-082.
If required by the department, CMM training will require completing CTC-047 and CTA-080.

Physical DemandsExerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. This may exceed typical Light Work requirements.
