Manufacturing Supervisor - COE Weekend 2nd Shift
Precision Castparts is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead the COE Weekend 2nd Shift team. This role involves driving quality, schedule, and cost objectives, coaching the hourly workforce, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities- Coordinate technical, quality, and production leadership to meet quality, schedule, and cost goals.
- Provide ongoing scheduler support and facilitate the flow of hardware to meet customer requirements.
- Support Team Leaders with decision‑making in process improvement and production resource allocation.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve inventory turns, and reduce manufacturing losses.
- Direct the activities of an hourly team and participate in departmental goals.
- Perform administrative duties: timecards, labor vouchers, self‑audits, absence reviews, missing time corrections.
- Coordinate first‑line activities (Methods, Production Control) to assure production schedule and customer satisfaction.
- Coach and counsel team members on performance and development.
- Practice sound human relations and communication skills to motivate the workforce.
- Review production orders and ensure schedules are met.
- Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime.
- Achieve highest safety levels in the plant.
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing improvements.
- Employ Six Sigma rigor to all functions within the department.
- Mentor and motivate team in safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of prior supervisor/leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
- Prior experience in CNC machining, dimensional inspection, and precision measuring equipment.
- Prior supervisory/leadership experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong team building, coaching, and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Six Sigma training preferred.
- Must be able to support a 24/7 operation and train on first shift if applicable.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Lift 35 lbs when needed.
- Stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms throughout the day.
- Operate several controls simultaneously with good coordination.
- Frequent use of physical skills to operate a wide variety of machines and tools.
