- Conduct inspection, preventive maintenance, and general heavy equipment upkeep and repair of Dozers, Excavators, Haul Trucks, and support equipment.
- Conduct daily inspection and general preventive maintenance of heavy industrial equipment fleet.
- Repair and lubricate heavy mobile equipment.
- Ability to dismantle, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment components.
- Capable of making diagnostic observations of equipment to prevent problems that may affect daily operation.
- Ability to read and understand parts books, and service manuals.
- Daily housekeeping and maintenance related cleaning of equipment.
- Moves machinery and equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diplomas or GED
- One to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to utilize instruments to diagnose equipment performance.
- Must be able to comprehend material safety data sheets (MSDS) and hazardous material identification system (HMIS) for products and raw materials.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, loading charts, material labeling, and safety data sheets.
- Must be capable of safely accessing ladders, elevated work platforms, stairs, and manlifts to repair, inspect, or adjust equipment while maintaining three-point contact to minimize the risk of falling.
- Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms.
- Must be able to recognize hazards associated with this job and take appropriate action to avoid accidents.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good DMV record.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy parts and equipment.
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- While performing the duties of this job, the candidate will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Frequently works in high places and is frequently exposed to vibration.
- Occasional outdoor environments.
- Loud noise levels.
- Standing for long periods on concrete or other hard surfaces; walking over rough and uneven terrain.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing.
- Frequent lifting up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
- Frequent lifting up to 100lbs and occasionally lift and/or move weights over 100lbs.
- Frequent use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, manipulation tools/objects, and writing/typing.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures.
- Frequent exposure to substances, including/not limited to industrial chemicals, hydraulic fluid, grease, oil, and dirt.
