1st Shift Maintenance Mechanic – Columbia, SC

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment.

Shift Times:

1st: 6:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Thursday and 6:00am-2:30pm, Friday

Essential Job Functions

• Strong background in CNC machine repairs.
• Demag and various other crane repair knowledge.
• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Qualifications and Requirements
Required
:
High school education or equivalent. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. over shoulder height frequently. Must have vision correctable to at least 20/50 in one eye. Must be able to read numbers, letters, and a dial face clock. Must be able to speak and understand enough English to follow simple instructions.

Preferred
:
Two or more years’ experience in manufacturing.

Proficiency and use of Software, equipment, machines, tools, electronic device necessary for job:
Lathe, drill press, grinder, pneumatic tools, production machines, electronic equipment.
