The Methodist Student Network (MSN) is seeking an Assistant Campus Minister to serve alongside the Campus Minister and help cultivate a vibrant and welcoming faith community. Located in Columbia, SC, MSN seeks to create spaces where college-aged young adults encounter the love of Jesus, experience authentic belonging, and are empowered to live out their faith.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate to design and lead outreach, retreat, service, and small group opportunities.
- Partner with students to develop and support thriving small groups and their leaders.
- Identify, mentor, and equip leaders through training and development opportunities.
- Offer compassionate care and spiritual guidance to students individually and in groups.
- Manage essential administrative tasks and coordinate the ministry’s digital presence.
- Provide capable leadership for the ministry when the Campus Minister is unavailable.
We’re looking for someone who demonstrates:
- Spiritual Maturity:
Exhibits a grounded faith, integrity, and the ability to articulate relevant theological understanding. - Interpersonal
Skills:
Builds strong relationships, actively welcomes others, and listens with empathy to young adults. - Developing Leaders and Teams:
Fosters belonging, leads effectively, and empowers others to discover and use their gifts. - Social Witness:
Shows a commitment to justice and encourages the ministry’s engagement in social issues. - Organization:
Understands planning, communication, and the importance of involving others in the process. - Reflective Practice and Development:
Proactively seeks growth, integrates feedback, and adapts to evolving needs. - The position is part-time, 20 hours per week.
- The position will remain open until filled, beginning as soon as July 1, 2025.
- The salary is $22,000.
