* ** A Brief Overview
** The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered.

** What you will do
*** Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness during recovery from anesthesia.
* Measure and record patients' vital signs.
* Closely observe patients for signs of side effects of anesthesia medication.
* Treat pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms of anesthesia.
* Update charts, patient files, and medical records.
* Collaborate with the medical team on post-operative patient care and facilitate timely specialized interventions.
* Provide comfort and reassurance to distressed post-operative patients and concerned family members.
* Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care, as well as answering questions.  
** Education Qualifications
*** Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred
* Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred  
** Experience Qualifications
*** Previous experience in PACU/OPS Preferred
* Critical Care experience Required  
*
* Skills and Abilities

*** Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers  
** Licenses and Certifications
*** Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
* Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation with South Carolina Board of Nursing  
** Physical Demand
