Job Description SummaryThe Nurse Educator is responsible for coordinating the orientation process for all nursing staff and assessing their on‑hire competencies. The role develops and maintains an effective staff education program, coordinating individualized orientation and continuing education, ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies through orientation sessions and annual safety training, collaborating with nursing administration and compliance teams, maintaining knowledge of trends and developments in the field, and conducting ongoing organizational needs assessments and performance gap analysis.
Responsibilities- Coordinate orientation process for all nursing staff.
- Assess on‑hire competencies of new nurses.
- Develop and maintain staff education and training program.
- Coordinate individualized orientation and continuing education.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and facility policies through provision of orientation sessions and annual safety training.
- Collaborate with nursing administration and compliance teams.
- Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in nursing.
- Conduct organizational needs assessments and performance gap analysis to determine training plans.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- Minimum three years of applied clinical RN experience.
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing school preferred; can substitute for 1 year of required experience.
- Extensive knowledge of the unit’s patient population, healthcare trends, and regional resources.
- Ability to establish working relationships with diverse groups and medical staff.
- Current South Carolina licensure as a registered nurse or compact state.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or American Red Cross BLS certification required; other certifications may be required.
Health‑28 pay grade, scheduled 40 weekly hours, full‑time, exempt role, under CC003756 COL – Clinical Education (DMC).
