FAR Inspections is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.

Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.

Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Inspections verify property occupancy and report general condition via a mobile application.

• Perform exterior (and sometimes interior) occupancy inspections; most take 5–6 minutes.
• Complete each inspection within 4 days of assignment.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Fill out a short form in the inspection app.
• Drive extended periods within the assigned territory, making numerous stops per day.

• Computer with internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage a plus; you pay your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate. Rates vary by county and volume. Although paid per inspection, earnings average $30–$40 per hour
.

Depending on county and urban/rural status, you may complete 20–500 inspections per month working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates; higher volume counties have lower rates. There is no set minimum, but work remains consistent month‑to‑month.

Earnings grow as you become established, expand availability, or cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
