Overview

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Supervisor acts as an ambassador on the floor and provides guests with welcoming and attentive care. Pay Rate:
Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position starts at $23.00 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree, or equivalent life experience in a supervisory role, preferred.
  • Minimum 21 years of age required; expected to mix and serve alcohol.
  • Minimum of 2 years Food Service experience required, preferably server/bartender; 1 year of previous Supervisory/Management experience highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years Server/Bartender experience preferred.
  • Point of Sales system (Info Genesis or other) experience preferred.
  • Must be able to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Basic understanding/knowledge of business financials is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in English with guests, coworkers, and management to their understanding is required.
  • Must work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Be passionate about creation, training, and learning of beverages including cocktails, liquor, beer, and wine.
  • Organize, communicate, and lead the team through a successful shift.
  • Ensure each employee follows established side work guidelines to exact specifications.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and adhere to the employee handbook rules and regulations.
  • Rotate all food and drink products in stock; clean and maintain equipment properly.
  • Maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation/health regulations and resort requirements.
  • Meet all guest special requests.
  • Contribute to the growth and success of the team.
  • Perform well under pressure during high-volume shifts.
  • Communicate effectively with front of house staff, management, and kitchen during service.
  • Assist in conducting/leading staff and daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Follow and support service commitment and core values.
  • Assist in training and development of staff knowledge pertaining to food and beverage.
  • Prioritize, organize, delegate work, and follow through with assigned tasks.
  • Remain calm, think clearly, and resolve problems using good judgment in intense environments.
  • Handle multiple tasks with professionalism.
  • Keep a clean, neat, and organized workspace.
  • Motivate staff and maintain a cohesive team; direct performance and follow up with corrections when needed.
  • Use all senses to ensure quality standards are met at all times.
  • Uphold the core values, policies, and procedures of the resort.
  • Handle money accurately during transactions.
  • Communicate professionally with guests when conflicts occur or expectations were not met, providing solutions to improve the guest experience.
  • Maintain positive relationships with wine, beer, and liquor representatives.
  • Demonstrate eagerness to continue learning and development.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Essential

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs. across short-medium distances.
  • Must be able to stand for the entirety of the shift.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, lift, and carry trays, boxes, dishes, glassware, etc. as needed.
