Job Description

As a Security Guard - Armed Hospital Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining visible and approachable. This armed and driving post involves conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, and delivering exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support a secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the healthcare location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and maintain a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Support healthcare staff during security-related incidents or emergencies, following established protocols to maintain order.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff in the healthcare setting.
  • Carry and maintain proficiency with assigned firearm in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • At least one year of experience in armed security, law enforcement, and/or military roles is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
