FUNCTIONServes as an assistant mechanic for the Property Maintenance department. Responsibilities include providing all maintenance to plantation-wide assigned equipment and vehicles. Ensures that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the vision of “One Brays” goals and objectives.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- 1. Assist in diagnosing vehicle issues and performing basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- 2. Prepare and maintain detailed records of all repair work done on vehicles, including parts used and labor time.
- 3. Operate a variety of hand tools and mechanical equipment to support the mechanic in repairing vehicles.
- 4. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the workshop/outside areas, including cleaning tools and equipment after use.
- 5. Transport vehicles to and from the workshop area as required for repairs or after service completion.
- 6. Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies needed for vehicle maintenance and repair.
- 7. Provide customer service by explaining repair work done and answering any questions related to vehicle care.
- 8. Perform safety checks and inspections on vehicles to identify any potential issues that require immediate attention.
- 9. Schedule warranty and non-warranty repairs with outside vendors.
- 10. Ensures proper disposal of waste oil in conjunction with DHEC regulations and standards.
- 11. Conduct all repairs in a safe manner in conjunction with PPE guidelines.
- 12. Foster a “One Brays” culture that ensures alignment to values, employee engagement, owner-centricity, and resource sharing.
- 13. Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. ASE Certified light truck and Diesel Mechanic preferred. - Knowledge:
Must have the ability and desire to continue education efforts as the automotive and heavy equipment industry improves. - Skills:
Ability to troubleshoot and repair gas and diesel vehicles and heavy Equipment. - Experience:
Three to five years of experience in the field of repair and service of automotive and heavy equipment.
