Job Description

The Diesel Technician III is a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet. You’ll perform advanced maintenance and repairs on diesel and non‑diesel vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency. Additionally, you’ll provide mentorship and guidance to Level I and Level II Diesel Technicians, helping to build a strong, knowledgeable team that drives our success.

Essential

Functions
  • Adhere to all federal, state, local, and company safety and environmental policies.
  • Perform advanced maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment, including tire changes, oil and filter services, and electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Test and repair power, hydraulic, and brake systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct major repairs on engines, transmissions, differentials, and fuel injection systems using state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic tools.
  • Provide off‑site service calls to diagnose and repair equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and service vehicles.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Foreman to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
  • Mentor and support Level I and Level II Diesel Technicians, sharing your expertise to elevate the team.
  • Diploma in auto or diesel technology (preferred) OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • ASE certifications (preferred).
  • Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B (preferred).
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, schematics, and computer software.
  • Strong communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 60 lbs., stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Schedule
  • 40 - 70 hours per week
  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • Monday - Friday
  • On Call
  • Day shift (required)
  • Night shift (required)
  • Overnight shift (required)
