The High Voltage Utility Underground Lineman assists in the construction, maintenance, and repair of energized underground electrical distribution systems. This role requires working safely in outdoor environments while following established procedures and direction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized underground distribution systems under supervision
- Follow work orders, job plans, and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Identify and select appropriate materials, including sizes and types, for pre-assembly
- Understand and maintain required minimum approach distances
- Perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions

Qualifications & Requirements- Ability to read and interpret work orders, instructions, and procedures
- Knowledge of equipment setup and grounding practices
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
- General knowledge of OSHA standards for energized and de‑energized work environments
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and nonverbal)
- Self‑motivated with strong organizational skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical degree, 0–2 years of field experience, mechanical aptitude, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- CDL Class A license or ability to obtain
- OSHA certifications (required or ability to obtain)
- Regularly required to talk and hear
- Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, reach, push, and pull
- Lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- Use hands for handling, gripping, and feeling
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, fumes, and airborne particles
- Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and varying job site conditions
- Loud noise levels at job sites
- Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions
