This contract opportunity is ideal for those with a passion for helping young people navigate behavioral and emotional challenges, particularly those stemming from trauma. Located near scenic surroundings, you will work closely with students, staff, and families to foster a safe and nurturing environment.

Your expertise in handling aggressive behaviors and helping students with PTSDespecially those triggered by sounds or loud musicwill be invaluable. The ideal candidate is gentle, patient, and confident in de-escalation techniques. Knowledge of crisis prevention strategies is highly valued, and a CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification is a significant plus.

Qualifications:
  • Background in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field (school setting experience advantageous)
  • Proficient in recognizing and responding to trauma-related triggers
  • Skilled in behavior management and intervention for students with complex needs
  • CPI certification strongly preferred
  • Compassionate and adaptable, with a calm demeanor under pressure
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, counselors, and families
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students exhibiting aggressive behaviors, elopement, or trauma responses
  • Maintain a supportive and positive presence, working to de-escalate situations effectively
  • Implement strategies to avoid triggers and respond appropriately when they arise
  • Provide regular check-ins and emotional support for identified students
  • Work cohesively with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized interventions
  • Maintain ongoing communication with teachers, staff, and families to ensure consistency
