The Senior Programmer is a technical position that supports the development and maintenance of RCMS applications and solutions. The primary purpose of this position is to support the organizational goals of RCMS by efficiently and effectively fulfilling the responsibilities of a Senior Programmer.

A Senior Programmer will be responsible for defining, developing, testing, analyzing, and maintaining software applications in support of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing web applications and APIs. The Senior Programmer will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production lifecycle. Additionally, this individual will provide mentoring, support, and guidance to junior developers on the team.

Responsibilities :

All tasks related to this position are to be performed in accordance with RCMS policies, procedures, quality standards, customer needs, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Responsibilities :

  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures.
  • Assist in defining and documenting business requirements, deliverables, and specifications.
  • Conduct research on emerging products, languages, and standards to support ongoing development efforts.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in code reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Required Knowledge and Skills :

    • Excellent understanding of coding methods and best practices.
    • Able to communicate effectively with non-technical end users.
    • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Experience with source control frameworks such as GIT, SVN, TFS.
    • Proficiency in SQL Server stored procedure development and GIT version control system.
    • Expertise in React / Angular frameworks, asynchronous processing, MVC (Model View Controller), and Service-Oriented Architecture / Microservices.
    • Ability to design and maintain an MS SQL Server database.
    • Keen attention to detail.
    • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

    Qualifications :

    Education / Experience :

    • BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
    • Two or more years of experience or knowledge with web programming languages.
    • Expert knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite.
    • Healthcare and/or insurance industry experience is preferred.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
    • Attention to detail and a proactive, self-starting approach to work.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Proficiency in computer and internet usage.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to foster teamwork.

    Working Conditions :

    • Work in a high-volume environment that may require overtime.
    • Sit for extended periods.
    • Primarily work indoors, with some travel to client locations.
    • Typing and reading on a computer.
    • Communicating via in person, email, telephone, and written correspondence.
    • May involve standing, stooping, pushing, reaching, and pulling.
