Camp Greenville, located on 1400 acres on top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, has been a special place for over 100 years. This overnight camp hosts boys and girls from across the region and the world for summer camps, retreats, and specialty camps, offering outdoor adventures in Western North Carolina and South Carolina.
Position OverviewYMCA Camp Greenville is seeking a cause-driven leader to serve as Waterfront Coordinator. This person will lead all waterfront activities, own the efficient operation of the waterfront, and guide a team of lifeguards to create a safe and fun environment.

- Maintain safety of campers and staff while at the waterfront.
- Follow all operation procedures and standards given.
- Plan, direct, and supervise a safe and fun waterfront program.
- Train staff, maintain equipment, and manage supervision and safety.
- Coordinate bi-weekly in-service for lifeguards and key staff as well as camper waterfront check‑in.
- Support cabin leader staff when not in the program area and fill in for cabin leaders at times.
- Assist participants of all backgrounds.
- Serve as a role model, upholding camp values with integrity, creativity, and safety.
- Ensure the health and well‑being of campers mentally, emotionally, and physically during their time at camp.
- Approach responsibilities in a fun, creative, enthusiastic, and professional manner.
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
- Attend/complete required abuse risk management training.
- Follow procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising consumers.
- Follow mandated reporting requirements.
- Adhere to job‑specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
- Be at least 21 years old by June 2026.
- Currently be Lifeguard Certified or hold a certification within the last 2 years and willing to recertify.
- CPR/First Aid Certified as part of the lifeguard certification.
- Manage lifeguards in a waterfront setting.
- Experience lifeguarding in a waterfront/lake setting.
