We are searching for a Fitness Trainer (Certified Training Certificate REQUIRED) to join our team! As a member of our team, you will be responsible for running the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). This includes assisting new members in the achievement of their fitness goals by designing a simple workout program and instructing them on the proper use of equipment.
Responsibilities- Run PE@PF programs for participants (3-8 people per session) and create schedules for members.
- Consult with members regarding their fitness goals and instruct them on how to properly and safely use the equipment.
- Create bi-weekly updates consisting of a variety of exercises.
- Meet class requirements based on club size and member traffic.
- Greet members and guests, providing exceptional customer service and making members feel comfortable and welcomed.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
- Check members in, tour and sign up new members, log amenities and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
- Respond to member questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct beverage or merchandise purchases on the point of sale system.
- Elevate to Assistant Manager or Manager as needed.
- Utilize POS system to assist with new membership cards, change of address and billing or payment questions.
- Keep the facility clean and orderly: regular cleaning of equipment, tanning beds, windows, mirrors and restrooms; mopping spills; trash removal; re-racking weights.
- Perform continuous standing, walking and occasional lifting up to 75 lbs during shift.
- Occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
- Pass background screening and maintain current CPR Certification as well as a Nationally Certified Training Certificate.
- Maintain punctuality, reliability and exceptional customer service skills.
- Demonstrate diplomacy, empathy, problem solving and appropriate communication.
- A passion for fitness and health.
- Upbeat and positive attitude.
- 6-12 months of customer service experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Current CPR Certification required.
- Nationally Certified Training Certificate required.
- Ability to pass background screening required.
- Basic computer proficiency with an eye for accuracy.
- Punctuality and reliability are a must.
- Exceptional customer service skills, able to interact in a positive and professional way with members and co‑workers, exceeding the member’s expectations.
- Strong listening skills with the ability to empathize and problem‑solve.
- Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language.
- Continual standing and walking during shift.
- Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals during shift.
