PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.

SUMMARY

The ideal candidate will possess a clean driving record and a valid CDL license, along with the ability to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and background check. This role involves operating tractor trailer combinations with a GVW of over 26,000 lbs. and pulling a tow weight exceeding 10,000 lbs. Proficiency in using various material handling equipment, including forklifts and scissor lifts, is required.

In this position, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods while adhering to state and local laws, inspecting truck equipment, and maintaining accurate logs in compliance with regulations. Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with supervisors and ensuring efficient operations.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday 1:30pm-10:00pm

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess and maintain a valid CDL Class A License
  • Must possess a valid DOT medical card
  • Minimum 2 years driving experience
  • Must pass DOT physical and drug test
  • Must pass background check
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must have experience driving a tractor trailer combination with a GVW of over 26,000 lbs. and pulling a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.
  • Be able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Must be able to operate a single, deep reach truck, sit‑down forklift, stock picker, electric jack, and scissor lift
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive truck safely and within state and local laws
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water
  • Report any unsafe conditions on the truck to a manager
  • Check that registration and inspection stickers are valid
  • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations
  • Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions
  • Verify load against shipping papers
  • Operate forklift in a safe and efficient manner to retrieve or store material
  • Maintain a safe working environment by obeying all safety rules and by reporting all accidents, unsafe conditions, and acts to management
  • Provide assistance to warehouse staff in performing normal warehouse duties
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Adhere to all company rules and regulations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 lbs
  • Expect prolonged standing, walking, and moving around to perform warehouse duties and inspect the truck
  • May involve climbing in and out of the truck or onto a forklift, stock picker, or scissor lift
  • Frequent bending or stooping is likely needed to inspect truck parts, secure loads, or retrieve/store material in the warehouse
  • Physical coordination and dexterity are required to safely operate forklifts, deep reach trucks, and other heavy machinery
  • Driving a truck will require sitting for extended periods of time, sometimes over long distances
  • Good vision (both near and far) and hearing are essential for safe driving, equipment operation, and communication via telephone or radio

Ability to work in various environments such as a warehouse, outdoors in different weather conditions, or on the road
