The President of Bridge Valley Community and Technical College serves as the chief executive officer of the institution and is responsible for advancing the College’s mission to deliver accessible, high-quality education that leads to meaningful careers, workforce advancement, and further education. Reporting to the Board of Governors, the President provides visionary, transparent, and accountable leadership that strengthens student success, workforce alignment, institutional sustainability, and regional economic development.

The President will lead the implementation of Bridge Valley’s newly adopted 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, ensuring measurable progress in enrollment growth, student retention and completion, institutional effectiveness, and community and industry partnership expansion. The role requires a leader who understands workforce education, skilled trades, early college models, and the evolving role of technology, including artificial intelligence, in both instruction and institutional operations.

Examples

of Duties Strategic Leadership and Institutional Direction
  • Lead the execution and continuous refinement of the College’s 2026–2030 Strategic Plan, aligning resources, policies, and performance metrics to institutional goals.
  • Translate Board priorities, state policy, and regional workforce needs into clear operational strategies and accountable outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and data-informed decision-making across the institution.
  • Provide regular, clear, and accessible reports to the Board, campus community, and external stakeholders on institutional performance and progress.
Student Success, Enrollment, and Completion
  • Advance a student-centered educational model that prioritizes enrollment growth, retention, completion, and post-completion outcomes.
  • Strengthen early college, dual enrollment, and bridge programs, including the WIN Academy, to build sustainable pipelines into workforce and transfer programs.
  • Ensure the delivery of holistic student support systems through Bridge Valley ASAP, including advising, financial aid access, mental health resources, transportation supports, and academic services.
  • Champion work-based learning, Learn and Earn models, apprenticeships, and employer-connected pathways across academic programs.
Workforce, Skilled Trades, and Economic Development
  • Position Bridge Valley as the region’s leading provider of workforce education, skilled trades training, and customized employer solutions.
  • Maintain active, visible engagement with business, industry, labor, chambers of commerce, and economic development organizations across the service area.
  • Ensure academic programs and credentials align with regional labor market demand, licensure requirements, and evolving industry standards.
  • Support innovation in continuing education, upskilling, and reskilling to meet the needs of incumbent workers and employers.
Academic Excellence and Innovation
  • Promote high-quality academic programs that integrate workforce relevance, transfer pathways, and stackable credentials.
  • Encourage thoughtful adoption of instructional technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance teaching, learning, and workforce readiness.
  • Support faculty leadership, shared governance, and meaningful engagement through Faculty Senate and academic councils.
  • Ensure alignment between curriculum, learning outcomes, and career or transfer success.
Institutional Effectiveness and Financial Sustainability
  • Ensure sound fiscal management, long‑term financial sustainability, and responsible stewardship of public and private resources.
  • Expand non‑tuition revenue through grants, partnerships, customized training, philanthropy, and Foundation development.
  • Oversee facilities, infrastructure, and campus environments to ensure safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and deploy technologies, including AI‑enabled tools, to improve institutional effectiveness and administrative efficiency.
Community Engagement and External Relations
  • Serve as the chief ambassador and spokesperson for Bridge Valley at the local, state, and national levels.
