Job Description

Performs radiographic procedures at a technical and professional level not requiring constant supervision. Functions in a lead capacity to train other technologists and assess technologist competences in radiology. The radiographer must assume responsibility exercising independent judgment, initiative, and ingenuity in insuring quality images and pertinent information for diagnosis by the interpreting physician. Oversee staff and coordinate procedures.

Minimum Qualifications Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiography Technicians (ARRT) in Radiography.
  • Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided:
    • MD: Radiographer License through Maryland Board of Physicians
    • OH: Radiographer license through the Ohio Board of Radiology
    • PA: No state license is required
    • WV: Radiography DETAIL through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Experience:
  • Three (3) years' experience as a radiology technologist.
  • Experience:
  • Five (5) years' experience as a radiology technologist.
  • Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates workflows within the department to maintain efficient patient throughput, high patient satisfaction, quality and accuracy of service and a high level of safety.
  • Participates in documentation and evaluation of clinical performance of student radiographers.
  • Assists in the implementation and training of associates.
  • Monitors and documents compliance with policies, procedures, communications and standards as directed by department manager.
  • Communicates issues to department management in a professional discreet manner.
  • Supports management decisions and communicates positively to associates.
  • Troubleshoot and act as a technical liaison to service.
  • Perform Daily QA procedures on all equipment.
  • Completes राम्रो documentation for every procedure when appropriate wither on paper or in the computer system.
  • Employs appropriate safety techniques for all patients and associates.
  • Utilize all communication devices as necessary to perform appropriate patient care.
  • Perform IV insertion/blood draw.
  • Perform all diagnostic x‑ray procedures ordered by the physician/care provider and in accordance with the radiologist protocols.
  • Assist the radiologist with diagnostic and interventional x‑ray procedures.
  • Administer IV/Oral/Rectal contrast for imaging procedures per radiologist protocol and ordering physician/care provider order.
  • Utilize PACS to ensure exams are completed and available for the radiologist to read and for the referring physician/care provider to review.
  • Prepares monthly staff work schedule to assure coverage within established guidelines.
  • Assist with finding coverage for call offs.
  • Assist in evaluations of new equipment purchases.
  • Works with manager to monitor and maintain productivity levels.
  • Specialty Accreditation Requirements
  • Completion of annual required education related to specialty accreditation as defined by accreditation standards. Training may be completed through CBLs, trainings, In‑services, and competency validation.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and feeling are necessary body movements utilized in performing duties throughout the work shift.
    • Must be able to lift, move and position patients of all weights, with varying amounts of assistance in a fair manner on a regular and recurring basis.
    • Must be able to perform heavy work; exerting in excess of 100 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs of force constantly to move objects.
    Working Environment
    • Exposure to body fluids, human tissues, contagious diseases, sharps, explosive gases, cleaning agents, disinfectants, toxic gases, fumes, and odors.
