Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and systems throughout the facility.
Minimum Qualifications- Valid driver's license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Electrical Journeyman licensure.
- Master's Electrician licensure.
- HVAC Refrigerant licensure.
- One (1) year experience in all phases of general maintenance.
- One (1) year experience in facilities maintenance.
- Performs general maintenance work throughout the hospital.
- Ensures all tools are clean, properly stored, and inventory is maintained.
- Follows hospital, state, and federal guidelines for a safe environment.
- Maintains compliance with hospital and departmental policies regarding safety, security, and infection control.
- Ensures facilities and equipment are maintained to promote comfort, efficiency, and safety for patients and staff.
- Operates, cleans, and maintains equipment per department and safety procedures.
- Uses required PPE when in the department.
- Responds promptly to on‑call duties.
- Capable of climbing ladders up to 40 ft and making repairs, cleaning vents, lights, and windows for an extended shift.
- Can bend, stoop, reach, rotate, and stand for an extended shift; can lift fifty pounds from the floor to a height of five feet and move equipment up to 400 ft or more.
- Must meet Department of Labor's Heavy‑Duty Standard (exerting up to 100 pounds occasionally or 50 pounds frequently).
- Ability to tolerate cleaning solutions and maintenance chemicals.
- Capacity to work in heavy dust areas for extended shifts.
- Capacity to work in and around 100‑degree temperatures and high noise areas.
- Capable of operating all types of outside grounds equipment.
- Capable of operating, setting up, all types of in‑house maintenance tools and machinery.
- Capable of working all three shifts alone.
- Capable of operating and driving all hospital vehicles making runs from city to city.
- Knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
- Capable of working all three shifts and weekends when scheduled.
