After School Activity Assistant – YMCA of Rapid City
After School Activity Assistant (Kidstop Site Aide) – YMCA of Rapid City
Join our after school program for the 2024‑2025 school year, running August 12 – May 22. We look for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals to create a safe, high‑quality environment that supports children’s social, emotional, and physical growth.
Location & ScheduleLocation: Custer, SD
Shift: Monday‑Thursday 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm;
Fridays as needed.
Pay starts at $13.65 per hour, DOE.
Benefits: free YMCA staff membership.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children.
- Implement age‑appropriate curriculum to promote teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, and creativity.
- Build relationships with school principals, administration, parents, students, and YMCA members.
- Ensure child safety: maintain attendance records, handle incidents per protocol.
- Complete weekly lesson plans and archive them.
- Maintain and manage program equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Comply with YMCA safety policies and state/local regulations.
- Support membership goals through positive interactions.
- At least 16 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent in progress.
- Experience working with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
- Pass a background check.
