Extension Educator, Family & Consumer Science/4H Youth Development - Custer
This position is located in the Custer County Extension Office, Arapaho, OK. The Extension Educator provides leadership to family and consumer sciences (FCS) and supports the 4-H youth development programs with approximately 50% of time in FCS and 50% in 4-H youth development work. The incumbent will participate as a cohesive OSU Extension team member to involve local clientele and advisory groups to plan, implement, and evaluate the total county program.
The incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication devices, and the salary includes compensation to apply toward the use of a personal cellular device.
This position is located in the Custer County Extension Office, Arapaho, OK. Base annual salary for entry level educators who have a bachelor’s degree is $44,000 and a master’s degree $50,000. Starting salary is based upon education and prior relevant work experience. Continuation of employment is based upon need, performance and available county funding. This position is Regular Continuous/Until Further Notice.

Work schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends. Benefits: great benefits and eligibility (per OSU policy).
- Bachelor's in Family and Consumer Sciences, public health, or similar health-related field is required. For candidates without a degree in FCS, must be able to successfully obtain the noted certifications within two years of employment.
- Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required. Reliable transportation for travel connected with official duties. Reimbursement for official travel. - Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, situations and day-to-day demands.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to effectively manage time and resources.
- Must possess strong writing, communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to continued personal professional development.
- Evidence of ability to build and maintain relationships and work effectively with clientele, advisory groups, OHCE members, and other professionals.
- Demonstrated competency and effective use of computing and computer-based communications technology.
- Demonstrated leadership ability in designing, promoting, presenting, and evaluating educational programs and the desire to program to reach diverse audiences.
- Master's in Family and Consumer Sciences
- Previous experience in Cooperative Extension or closely related work is desirable.
