About The Job

The Maintenance Planner combines technical expertise with advanced planning to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of the maintenance process. Serving as the liaison between maintenance, production, and technical services, the Planner schedules maintenance work in advance to maximize the use of resources and minimize equipment downtime.

The Planner provides leadership and guidance for effective operation of the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including maintaining the Equipment Register and administering the preventive/predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) programs. This role requires a strong background in maintenance and advanced computer skills.

Key planning functions include reviewing and updating work requests, ensuring correct work order coding, initiating the material management process, coordinating expediting, and ensuring each planned task contains appropriate job instructions, procedures, and documentation. The Planner continuously reviews and updates Standard Scripts, Standard Jobs, Maintenance Standard Tasks, and Standard Job Parts Lists.

The Maintenance Planner works closely with Maintenance Superintendents, Reliability Engineers, and Supervisors to ensure accurate resource allocation, with particular attention to complex and critical jobs. This individual understands the Workflow Process within the Maintenance Operating System (MOS) and has the expertise to disseminate this knowledge to the maintenance workforce.

Responsibilities Safety & Compliance
  • Champion a safety-first culture in all practices and ensure work complies with all applicable Federal/State regulations and Coeur's Safety Policies and Standards.
  • Provide safety information, job instructions, materials, special tools, and drawings as required.
  • Participate in safety, certification, and insurance audit processes.
Planning & Scheduling
  • Provide maintenance planning and scheduling activities for the respective equipment area.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning and work schedules, ensuring planning for any Maintenance Period is completed at least one week in advance.
  • Prepare the Weekly Work Schedule (WWS) with input from maintenance and operations supervisors.
  • Review, prioritize, and categorize daily work requests; initiate priority planning on those identified and approved.
  • Identify person-hours required and available for planned work activities.
  • Review maintenance backlog, identify work to be accomplished along with PMs, and assist in establishing priorities.
  • Verify and coordinate planned jobs; validate through field observation the procedures, materials, craft person-hours, tools, equipment, and other resources necessary to efficiently perform defined jobs.
  • Deliver high-quality work packs and confirm logistical readiness before job release.
