VMTH/BMS Finance Analyst (FINANCIAL ANL 3 CX)
Join the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine as a Finance Analyst to support the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) and Biological Media Services (BMS). This role offers a blend of fiscal analysis, financial reporting, contract management and equipment oversight within a high‑impact, university‑level setting.
OverviewWork under the Financial Services Manager’s supervision, independently providing high‑level analytical and problem‑solving support for the VMTH and BMS. Responsibilities include policy development, budgeting, financial reporting, revenue analysis, contract and equipment management, and the oversight of financial transactions exceeding $70M.
Key Responsibilities- 40% Fiscal Analysis, Reporting and Management
- 25% Biological Media Services Financial Management
- 35% Contract and Equipment Management
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or finance or equivalent experience.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS, charts and graphs) and proficiency in word processing, database systems, email, web‑based software and online payroll/personnel systems.
- Strong financial and business management skills; ability to perform extensive budgetary analyses and maintain accuracy with large volumes of data.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills for independent problem identification and solution development.
- Excellent attention to detail, consistency of format and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex technical and policy issues.
- Organizational skills to multitask in a high‑volume environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience interpreting and applying university policies, accounting practices, business contracts and self‑supporting funds.
- Experience in Aggie Enterprise, Cognos and VMACS and ability to learn new systems.
- Experience working in a university setting.
- Knowledge of UC clinical education organizations, financial policies and business operations relevant to budgeting, accounting, contracting, payroll and personnel.
- Salary/Pay Range: $77,100 – $139,900 per year.
