The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to residents during scheduled night shifts, providing resident-centered nursing care and assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and other daily living activities.
- Recording vital signs and providing psychosocial support.
- Assisting with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range‑of‑motion exercises using proper techniques.
- Preparing food, serving meals, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Supporting procedures as needed and documenting resident interactions.
- Maintaining housekeeping and laundry services to keep residents’ living areas clean.
- Encouraging participation in wellness and recreational programs.
- Participating in departmental or organizational committees as required.
- High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification within four months of start date.
- Completing yearly competency testing and maintaining 12 hours of continuing education annually.
- Certifications as required by the department.
- May require a valid driver’s license if the role includes driving responsibilities.
